Im tired...
Ive switched from an iphone 13 to my pixel 8 nearly two years ago and well im just done.
I really did fall in love with android. In my personal experience it has been a lot more customizable and way more usable than my iphone 13. It really is a clean experience. But the hardware is just killing me. Ive had to put up with poor battery life and insane overheating since day one. I kept overlooking it because I wanted to stick with android but the battery gets so much worse with age. I even replaced the battery and the G3 chip still overheats even if I load up a basic geometry dash session or watch youtube or netflix.
And then there is the cell modem. That thing is horrendous, if I use data on 5g there is overheating and throttling even in the background. So I just disabled 5g for LTE and now I just stopped using data unless I really have to because of the battery drain. Trust me I have disabled transparency, animations, and turned off 120hz to help with it and it barely made a difference. Its basically just a portable heater that struggles to hold a call without dropping or overheating.
And well the bluetooth handling issue. Ive mentioned this before, but I use airpods so I dont fully blame the pixel since im using an apple device but it constantly fights my other devices. Over the 2 years to handle the bluetooth fighting I would just disable bluetooth when I use my airpods on another device.
So Ive decided to switch to a S26+ since I got a great carrier deal that makes it $480. Ill just keep the pixel 8 as a backup or pass it on to a family member.
While I enjoyed my time here, unfortunately, im leaving for what is hopefully a better objective experience as per the hardware.
