If you spend 3 hours on a mock and 15 minutes analysing it. You are doing it wrong. How I analysed my mocks!

Your percentile will move without you learning a single new concept provided you do this properly.

Spend equal amount of time in analysing the mock exam

  1. Before you look at answers, re-attempt every wrong question untimed. See if you got it correct. If no, it was a knowledge gap. If yes, then it was a time-pressure error / silly mistake which is fixable. Also, these questions are whats important to get right.

  2. Categorise every wrong / unattemped answer into buckets; Buckets I used were a) Dint know it, b) Knew it but misread it or made a silly mistake, c) knew it but no time to attemt, d) Conceptually wrong - should not have attempted

  3. That d) category are the most dangerous ones. You are spending time, thinking you know it but there is a knowledge gap. Learn how to see through such questions and topics. Never select them till you learn the concept

  4. Now make an excel sheet with this. also mark the topic in one column for each of these question.

Atter a few mocks you will start seeing a pattern. Across topics. And you will also start gaining widsom on how to select questions - which I feel is very important because it is a time bound exam.

Bring some structure to your analysis.

How to strategize test city preference in CAT Form

Test centre cannot be changed at any time in the future after the form is filled. So, here are a few things I did to make sure D day is hassle free.

Here's how I'd choose my cities for five preferences.

  1. Go for the nearest city - least travel time (same city even better)

  2. Choose the nearest metro city - in case you have to travel - there are enough options and accomodation is also easily available

  3. Choose the nearest tier-II city - Most likely to get it as tier-II cities have lesser demand and allocation is capacity driven

  4. Choose another metro city / tier-II - will mostly likely need travel but hopefully wont come down to this.

  5. Same as 4.

Feel free to reach out in case of any questions.

Nail Arithmetic logic: DILR Practice Set CAT 2026

DILR is one of the toughest sections in the CAT exams. One of the common question type is making cases. Making cases looks scary when you think about it because it seems like there will be many but in reality, due to the constraints. Typically, the answer boils down to 1 case. 2 cases if the question is a complex one.

The trigger is to figure out which constraint to start from which limits the number of cases you have to build from the very start. This usually comes with practice but is typically the one or two constraint with some sort of arithmetic logic or numbers involved.

Here is our attempt to show one of those question type to everyone preparing for CAT 2026. Follow us for more such tips.

Feel free to ask any questions!

Why attendance is mandatory in MBA colleges?

I was reading a post where someone mentioned they are looking for Best B schools with chill attendance.

Here's my take: MBA is not about 1 to many knowledge transfer like engineering. A lot of the focus is on cases and class discussions. And for that, you need students in the class. There is no point of doing an MBA in which nobody attends classes. Except some concepts and frameworks - MBA mein kcuh h nhi zyada
