Why is the Loop such a big disappointment?

I've had the Loop for over a month.

Before that, I had a V2 that I used for a few years, then an M3.

I’m very familiar with the apps and menus on these watches.

I also have a V650 and an M460.

Verity Sense, OH1, H10.

First of all, I was disappointed by the lack of a skin temperature sensor. It’s extremely important to know if your body is sending you any signals. The M3 had one; the Loop doesn’t.

The wristband feels a bit stiff to me.

Also, you can’t run any tests with the Loop, not even through the app. I’m talking about measuring VO2MAX—not even the orthostatic test, which even the M460 from 10 years ago had.

The biggest disappointment is that it doesn’t recognize activities at all.

It doesn’t know what’s cycling, what’s running, walking, etc.

What’s more.

I manually started a workout in Polar Beat: cycling. Loop as HR device.

It tracked GPS, heart rate, etc.

You can’t add a power meter, for example, for cycling, or a cadence or speed sensor. And the question that comes to mind is: How do you train properly with this device?

The big surprise is that even though I saved the workout and it appeared in Polar Flow, it didn’t change the Cardio Load result.

I was supposed to move from “mantaining” to “productive.”

Surprise. It didn’t change either the stain or the tolerance.

For a month now, I’ve been thinking about what I can do with this wristband, but I can’t find a practical use for it during training.

Maybe it’s okay as a fashion accessory or to see how you slept, but other than that, there’s nothing you can really do with it seriously. I will return to M3.

That’s my opinion.

Hello, everyone.

I have a dilemma.

I currently own an M3 and want to get a Loop.

I’m interested in hearing your thoughts on this.

Basically, the Loop is a V2 without a screen.

I also had a Vantage V2, which I was happy with.

Basically, I just want to wear a Loop on one wrist for physiological metrics and a classic watch on the other.

For me, the Loop was a disappointment in the sense that I was expecting a latest-generation sensor, not the previous one, and from what I understand, it’s quite unstable—both in terms of hardware, since it loses connection quite often, and software, since it doesn’t recognize activities right or at all.

I’d still like to stick with the Polat system, though, and honestly, it bothers me that the Loop doesn’t track skin temperature, for example.

When I heard the slogan “game changer” before the launch, I was expecting something wow, something that brings new, additional features, etc... instead, it was a huge disappointment because, instead of getting extra features and innovations, you’re back to where things were a few years ago.

All in all, what do you think?

What are the practical pros and cons? Theoretically, I know the ins and outs, but I’m interested in hearing from someone who has the Loop or both.
