YouTube throttling?
Has anyone experienced an issue where YouTube seems to be throttled?
For well over a week now, YouTube seems to stall, lag, etc. on any device that's connected to Wi-Fi or ethernet. YouTube is the only streaming service/site affected. I've laid out my setup and troubleshooting steps below.
Equipment:
AT&T BGW 320 gateway in pass through mode; AT&T Internet 2000/2 gig plan.
Asus BE96u Wi-Fi 7 router.
Troubleshooting:
Checked and re-seated all physical connections.
Reset AT&T gateway.
Factory reset Asus router.
Set up new SSIDs and passwords.
Reset Wi-Fi settings for phones, laptops, TVs, etc.
Ran multiple speed test that show 2300+ Mpbs up and down with 2-3 ms pings on average.
Checked Downdetector.com, no notable spikes in YouTube issues.
Pinging youtube.com shows 0% packet loss with a 32ms minimum, 34ms average, and 35ms maximum ping.
As a last resort, I disconnected the AT&T gateway from my router which made it fail over to the backup cable internet connection. The YouTube issue completely vanished on all devices while using my cable internet connection.
Am I missing something? Or is this possibly an issue with AT&T?
