First solder job
Have switch that I used the wrong power brick for and blew one of the components where it’s labeled PL7. Claude is telling me I should solder a bridge across the burnt one and the one directly next to it and that should close the circuit. It’s also saying that I should clip one of the two wires off a resistor I have laying around to use as the bridge like I have in the pic above as well. I guess I’m coming here to ask is that a sound idea? And if so any tips on how I should go about it while I’m waiting on the soldering iron to get here today. It’s a Cisco CBS 250 switch that I got bundled with an EdgeRouter X for $60 off of FB marketplace. I figure it’s expensive enough to replace that I should at least try with having a background in welding. also this is the only options as I already tried to file a warranty claim bc it’s still covered but with out the business name of the original company who initially bought it Cisco refuses to work on it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
