I need some advice. I am 6ft 2in, 110kg. I run striking heel first with a neutral gait.
I have been running for a year as of this month. I started barely managing 2km without a break initially and was doing so in Nike Quest 5 shoes and built up slowly to consistant solid 5kms then a pace of around 5.45/km from 6.35/km initially. I did only around 150/200km in those and they died. I didnt realise this happened to shoes at the time and so kept running in them assuming I was having a few bad runs in a row. Eventually, around November 2025 I sustained a knee injury because of this. Took 6 weeks out before returning on NYE.
Prior to my return I got a gait analysis and advice on propper running shoes. I bought some New Balance 1080 V14s and have yet to sustain an injury since and in Feb I bought some Novablast 5s to help work on my pace a bit. (The other option the running shop suggested when i got my NB V14s). In a year, iv gone from 6.35/km to 5.07/km however my NB V14s have started to give me blisters on thr arch and I feel very little cushion when I run, with some knee tenderness emerging once more. The issue is, I have only ran 250km in them!
I run 3 times per week. My fast and longer run are in my Novablasts and my Easy was always in my 1080s but now they are seemingly dead. I was hoping for some advice on a more durable shoe for my size, purely for easy runs. I just worry that I am going to keep crippling shoes before i get any 'normal' amount of distance out of them.
Please help!
