Hi guys I am a bit scared and confused after my exitement for taking a mbbs seat ( up private )

For context I am a guy and I have long hairs and was looking for advise all over the internet to be as it is or cut it short . And while looking for thia advise I saw some horrific incidents of ragging and as far as I knew ragging was a thing of past so like is it still prevelant in medical collages ? Any advice would be helpful
