Today I found my first Gold Coin !

Today I went to an antique shop looking for vintage watches. Found nothing in the box I was directed to but the lady working said the costume jewelry lot bags sometimes had watches in them. She had them sorted by gold and silver. These bags are clear so you can see the lot and rummage through them. I see everything in this bag looks as fake as fake gets. This coin is striking me and I take the gamble and spend the $10.00 for the bag. I go out to my car notice the coin isn’t soldered into the bezel it’s a screw top bezel. So I use my fingers to unscrew it and I pop the coin out. I notice it’s pretty heavy which makes me think it’s bronze but finished in fools gold. The edges on this coin are still super sharp like it just came out of a roll. The guy at the coin shop offered me $810 for the coin and $45.00 for the bezel because it’s gold as well. I walked and kept the coin ! I told him I would possibly be back tomorrow to sell but I’ve been a treasure hunter my whole life and this is just a cool piece. Any advice or information on this coin would be greatly appreciated. Also he informed me this is a Philadelphia minted coin.

I got this in a costume jewelry lot bag for $10.00. I took it to the coin and gold shop and he offered me $850.00 for both the coin and the bezel . The bezel is gold as well but the edges on this coin are pristine and sharp. Not sure if I should sell or hang on to it.

1st Time poster long time follower.

Today I went to an antique shop searching for vintage watches. I find a huge box rummage through it to find some cool stuff but nothing I can’t live without. The owner tells me there are loose pieces in the clear jewelry lot bags. I look over to find hundreds if not thousands of these lot bags assorted by rows of gold and silver costume jewelry. I pull this random bag and look at it to see this coin in a pendant mount that’s got a screw as the piece holding it together it’s not soldered. The bag has a $10.00 price tag for a whole bunch of $0.25 cheap fake gold necklaces. I’m thinking this is totally fake and I’m possibly going to be throwing my money away. I take the gamble pick my daughter up from school and go straight to the Gold and Coin shop. The owner test it and it’s real. He told me he would give me $850 for the coin and the setting piece cause it is gold as well. I turned the offer down because he wanted to give me spot. This coin literally feels like it just came out of an untouched roll. The edges are still sharp and he said it’s a Philadelphia mint. Should I go back tomorrow and sell it or is it worth more to an actual coin collector ? I’m not completely strapped for money but $800.00 is still a lot to me. Any information would be great I love coins but this is my first serious coin I’ve got. Thanks 🙏

I was supposed to be getting gas but then I turned around and saw a majestic line of freights which never ever layup in this spot. So I had to feed my curiosity of seeing what the line had to offer !
