Hello I bought a PlayStation 4 about two or three years ago, but unfortunately it’s currently broken.
At first, the issue was with the power supply, which I managed to repair. I also worked on fixing the disc drive, but even after the repair, it still doesn’t function properly. The drive acts like it’s trying to work — when I insert a disc, you can hear it spinning and the laser attempting to read it — but it never actually loads anything. After a short time, it just ejects the disc. The eject function itself is unreliable or doesn’t respond at all.
Another problem is that when I try to insert a disc, the console doesn’t power on automatically like it should. I have to manually use a screwdriver to force the mechanism just to get any response at all.
I’ve already ruled out the rear switch as the cause. At this point, I suspect the issue might be with the motherboard, but I’m not completely sure. It’s just a guess based on the behavior.
Right now, I don’t really know what exactly is wrong with it or what to do next, since even after repairing the power supply and the disc drive, the problem still persists.
