So, I traded a '23 Solterra for a '26 Uncharted about two weeks ago. I really enjoy driving this car, and now I've used enough miles to test the (at-home) charging. I have to say, I'm impressed. The Solterra would pull about 6 Kwh on my Level 2 Chargepoint, and the last time I added 160 miles to the range, it took 10 hours. I plugged in the Uncharted, and it added 160 miles of range in 4 hours. It was pulling nearly 11 Kwh. Between that and the increase in range, I'm very pleased. I haven't even tried DC fast charging yet - we don't really do a lot of road trips - but we may actually try a road trip in this car. Between the limited range and slow charging of the Solterra, I was never willing to try a road trip in it, but this is much less anxiety-inducing.

I expected faster Level 3 charging than the '23 Solterra (LOL, the Level 3 charging on the Solterra was AWFUL), but the Level 2 improvement was a pleasant surprise. (I have a dedicated 60 amp circuit, hardwired charger.)

So, my Uncharted doesn't have its plates yet, and I'm carrying the temp front "plate" on the dashboard, because there are no holes drilled in the front (Washington state requires front plates). I'm debating a no-drill mounting option when I get my plates. Has anyone done this yet, and if so, where did you opt to mount your plate?

(I never did put a front plate on my 2008 Miata. It just looked so wrong. I drove it commando for 10 years, and was lucky enough not to be stopped.)

I might even name this car, lol. I've literally never named a car - I always just call them "the Forester" or "the van" or whatever, but this one, I think, is Chili Palmer (the character in Get Shorty), because of its color. 😃

I haven't even taken a picture yet, but I bought the Sport in Habanero. I traded my '23 Solterra for it for a few reasons: I was missing having a car that felt a bit sportier (I drove a 2008 Miata for years), and the Solterra always felt a touch grandma-shoes to me. Comfortable, but no sizzle, and the handling just didn't feel like a Subaru (the Uncharted is my 6th Subie). I also wanted the native NACS port and somewhat better charging of the newer models. So far, I'm extremely happy with my decision. The 0% 72-month financing was definitely a factor, too. Got a surprisingly good deal on my trade, considering that everyone was claiming dealerships don't want '23 Solterras. Will post a picture after I get one tomorrow. It's so purty!
