Our department is part of a 100+ lawyer firm with locations throughout the GTA. We have, to date, hired from Reddit an amazing litigator who remains with us after 2 years and a Research Assistant who more recently started.
We now have a need for a 0-2 year call Ontario lawyer. If you are completing articling and looking for an associate position, you are precisely what we are looking for. Our billing targets are 1,500 hrs annual with remuneration comparable to top-level firms in downtown Toronto.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated strong academic performance as we will not hire just anyone to fill a seat. You're not expected to have any clients nor even have extensive working knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure although some proven interest in civil litigation is required. Eagerness to learn and be part of a team are definitely assets.
We respectfully are not able to consider anyone with 3+ years of call as we already have lawyers in that range.
