What pole/hedge trimmer would you recommend?

I'm a homeowner from Denmark with fairy tall and wide hedging with a height of about 2,2 m. The property size is roughly 800 m2. I need a new solid and well built hedge trimmer that can manage thicker branches the size of a finger. I have two types of hedges: one is english/cherry laurel and the other one is field maple. Sometimes they need a hard pruning which means I need something that can easily cut the branches. So far I've been using a 2,6 kg weight corded electric 600 W Black and Decker trimmer, but its broken in the gears and I've replaced it with a new machine 3 times the last 7 years. It just simply can't manage the task or is not properly built.

I've been looking at the Stihl pole trimmers (HLA66, HLA86 and HLA 140). The new HLA 140 seems a bit heavy and is maybe overkill for my garden? I do want to buy a professional proper machine though, but the weight of 5 kg + concerns me. Another option could be the HLA86. I'm thinking of buying it with either a 300 or 300 s battery. Also I've been looking at combining the HLA86 with the new Stihl HSA 140 R, that seems better suited for the thicker branches. Or would the HLA86 be sufficient in itself?

What would you guys recommend?

Say hello to Rat (the cat)

I know it is an unconventional name, but he just really looked like a little cute rat when he was a kitten with his little whiskers, so we started calling him rat and the name kind of stuck. We love our little void, who can enter and leave the house as he wishes. Most of the year when the weather is good he will be chilling somewhere in our garden. He hates crows because they will sometimes tease him in the garden. His favorite food is freshly cooked fjord shrimp.

I miss my old girl (18) so much

Almost 20 years ago I picked her up when she was just 12 weeks old. Back then I was studying medicine at university and she would always lie next to me while I was reading books. When I came home exhausted from work I would sometimes fall asleep on the sofa and when I woke up, she would almost always be sitting like a loaf on top of me. She always followed me around. If I went to do work in the garden, she would sit nearby and watch me. Her favorite food was fish and shrimps and I would always bring her a freshly caught fish when I went fishing in the spring and summer. When I went to bed, she always immediatly followed me and slept next to me. She also had a temper and would sometimes attack dogs if they came too close to her if she was sitting in the garden near the sidewalk (I've heard many whimping dogs through the years).

About two years ago I noticed a lump on her abdomen. I took her to the vet who said it was mammary cancer and that the best thing to do was to take her home and spend the time she had left as good as possible. About a year later, last July I lost her forever. I miss her so much and the house and garden is so empty without her. I miss her purring and her little headbutts and I really miss her company. I had her for a total of 18 years, but I wish I could have had more. 😟
