I want to fit a Grasscut 255-8 on my FS400.
I have the mounting kit 1 (4119 642 7600, 4119 713 3100, 4128 713 1600) see picture
This kit works for Bruschcut 225-3 but the Grasscut is thinner so the splines shaft sticks out of the guard ring so the ride plate does not clamp in the blade. Which spacer do I need?
I have used Stihl Ultra for years and years. Now I hear a lot of positive comments about Red Armor. What do some of you longtime Stihl owners and or dealers say?
This is a Stihl 024's cylinder, the original piston of it is worn badly. The cylinder doesn't have deep scratches. Should i give a try with a new piston or not ? Thanks !
Bought a brand new FS 91 a couple weeks back. I finally got around to using it two days ago, and it worked without issue. Today, when I went to use it, the motor started no problem but the head doesn’t spin at all.
I’m not very mechanically knowledgeable; the store where I bought it is an hour away, and they put it together for me. Any idea what could be wrong? I can do some simple fixes but just wondering if I need to drive the hour back to have the exchange it or something. Thanks!
Just brought a 400.1 and haven’t even put a full tank through it yet, used it to fell an 8ft pole and log it into rounds, turned it off, went back to use it maybe 10 minutes later and would not start for love nor money. Which is a shame as it’s my first ground saw and i absolutely love everything else about it, and it was big money (£1100) and a little disappointing start to what was super exciting.
Anyone else has a similar experience and found a good solution?

Hello, my father have a ms 170 he fuelled it but when doing a test to see if it turned on properly without problem it accelerated to the maximum kept on going and impossible to turn it off by the button, he had to open it and stop it himself. He looked inside and it seems the control shaft might be the problem. Here's the photo I took, sorry if it's not good. Could someone help repair it? I thank y'all in advance
I’m struggling with my FS46. I can go about 10 minutes and the trim line gets jammed and I have to take the head apart and re-do it. I recently replaced the head and still have the same issue.
Anyone tried an aftermarket head that is easier to reload and functions consistently? I’m open to all options.
I have a Stihl HL 145 Kombi attachment onto my battery combo unit but it’s not fully opening for some reason. I know there’s a little metal knob that you can pull down using the black lever, I am pulling that down anyway, but as you can see in the video, it’s not even reaching that far when I’m trying to open it so it’s not that knob that’s causing this to not open. Maybe I can force it with a lot of pressure but I’ve used this for years and never had to force it so I don’t want to break it. Any idea of how to fix this?
I just bought a stihl weed eater and taming my small wild backyard is this years project. Really happy with the results but when I looked into storing the 2 gallon gas carrier i saw the answer is only in an external shed (which I don’t have) and that it goes bad in a week. Is this actually true? Do I need to drain my weed eater after each use and get gas each time if I’m just using it once a month?
I'm a homeowner with a number of Stihl products. I have a Kombi power head and about six attachments for it. Every time I'm in the local hardware store in the Stihl display area, I see the racks that they have where tools like Kombis snap into a holder that grips the tubular frames and I wish I had something like that in my storage area. For now, I cobbled something together out of wood scraps and hooks but it's awkward.
If I knew a Stihl dealer that was closing up, I'd try and scoop up on some of the display parts. I don't expect that Stihl makes those available to anyone but dealers.
Are there any rack systems that professional landscapers use to hang their tools on trailers that may be affordable to homeowners?

Hi. I'm looking for a bit of advice on the domestic lawn mowers. The entry level RM248.3 T should do what I need on paper but a few reviews say it's underpowered as it uses the smaller EVC 205. My garden has an incline at one end, nothing crazy but definitely needs the help of self propelled. Can the 248 cope with slopes or would I be better off paying the extra for the RM 448.3T with the EVC 300 engine?
Also, the 448 has a composite deck instead of the steel deck on the 248. Is rust an issue on the steel decks or are they well protected? Thanks
I was looking at overall maintenance to take care of my (new to me) weedeater. Mine doesn’t have the grease port that’s threaded on the side of the gearbox and i saw some videos they use a nozzle. Anywhere or any product that comes with a nozzle that’s would fit these?
I have an FS90R that is used for my personal use. It is several years old and I like to have a stock of repairs parts for things that I will keep a while. Where would you suggest as a good source for a replacement carb to keep on hand? Stihl OEM only or is there an aftermarket source/brand that you like? Thanks, love the machine and want to be able to have no downtime and keep it a long time.
I work at a hardware store where we sell and service stihl. I’m the shop manager and a gold level stihl tech. I know I’m paid less than lower level techs at different stores because my “experience levels” aka my age. I’m located in Florida and out if our stores we are one if the busiest and we work strictly on stihl. Thanks in advance for the information
