“Terminated for Cause” if denied Clearance?
The jobs requires Clearance. So without it I can’t work there and would be terminated. But since the company is paying for my relocation, I am worried I am also liable with the repayment of the relocation cost in the rare chance my clearance get declined.
I assume it won’t be under “Employee Voluntarily Termination” but not sure if it would fall under “Terminated for Cause”. Since there isn’t stated that lost of legibility as an exclusion for it.
This is a quote from the contract:
“Further, the Employee agrees to repay the Company such costs if the Employee is "Terminated for Cause" within two years from the Employee's date of hire or transfer date, in accordance with the schedule above. "Termination for Cause" includes gross misconduct, gross negligence in performance of job duties, violation of Company Policy or the Company's Code of Ethics.
"Termination for Cause" does not include change in control, office closings, or job elimination.
The Employee will have fourteen (14) days from date of resignation or termination to make such repayment.”
Edit: I understand that I should not worry about passing. I have high hopes that I can pass my clearance. I am just planning for contingency in the small case that I am not eligible, which is why I want to ask about the repayment part specifically. Thank you.
