R36S clone – can’t find the right DTB file
Hi everyone, I’m having trouble getting an R36S clone to boot properly and I’m stuck identifying the correct DTB.
I bought this unit used, and it came with a 128GB SD card containing only the EasyROM FAT32 partition — no boot partition at all.
Booting from that card gives black screen with backlight + blue LED, which makes sense since there’s no OS on it.
So I bought a new SD and flashed ArkOS K36 (following the wiki instructions for the EmuELEC "sticker" clones).
Inserted the card → still black screen with backlight.
At this point I assumed it was a DTB mismatch, but I have a big problem:
the stock SD has no boot partition, so I can’t extract the original DTB and I can’t use the DTB identification tool to determine the exact clone type.
What I’ve tried so far
DTBs tested
From AeolusUX/K36-DTB https://github.com/AeolusUX/K36-DTB:
Panels 1–10, RX6S, R36 Max → tested all of them.
Results
- Panel 4 / RX6S DTB → vertical stripes (colors change when moving the cursor), audio works → OS is running but LCD init is wrong
- Other DTBs → black screen with backlight on
Right now I’m stuck without the original DTB and can’t identify the correct panel driver, i’d really appreciate your help. Thanks in advance to anyone who can share info or a working DTB or a backup image for this specific clone.
