It's interesting that RDR2 references Cornwall so much

The game seems to love referencing various locations or parts of Cornish culture. We've got:

Leveticus Cornwall --> His surname is Cornwall.

Josiah Trelawny --> Trelawny is a Cornish surname, and Trelawney is used as many Cornish business names.

Arthur Morgan --> A bit more on the nose. Referencing King Arthur and Morgan le Fay, both characters in Arthurian legend which has very strong ties to Cornwall.

Epilogue --> Using the alias of Lancelot, again a direct reference to Arthurian legend

Saint Denis --> St Dennis is a town in Cornwall

New Austin --> A bit of a stretch, but St Austell is a town in Cornwall

Blackwater --> Blackwater is a town near Truro, Cornwall

I know that RDR2 was made primarily in Rockstar North in Edinburgh, but that's a long way from Cornwall, so it's interesting that the game has so many references. There's probably more, but that's what I've found so far :)

I don't believe authoritarianism has any place in socialism

If socialism is going to work, it first needs to establish itself through democratic means and maintain that democracy throughout. A temporary dictatorship isn't a realistic step because it just replaces one form of oppression with another, and history shows it doesn't stay temporary.

If socialism requires authoritarianism to get started, then it fails on its own merit. You can't build a free society through coercion and expect it to turn democratic later. It just produces another ruling class.

EDIT:

As expected, there's very little "interesting thought, let's discuss that" and there's a lot of "um actually no, you're wrong". This is how the far right polls better than the left. They dangle basic ideas and recruit from there. But with the left, it seems to be a case of 'if you don't agree with, or fit our narrative, you're outright wrong and there's no room for discussion'.

Online ideological spaces don't seem to regard nuance. I think that concentrating total power is dangerous, but I guess saying that here is like walking into a pro-monarchy forum and criticising the king 🤷‍♀️

Are there any second hand bookshops around North Cornwall?

We've recently moved here and I'm wondering if any of you have any used bookshop recommendations? Thanks :)
