"This One's For You KB"
I've been enjoying the Dirt Legends cars qualifying on pole for my first and second race in them, but always came up just short for both (and the second one wasn't even classified as official). That was until today. I ran this Caramel M&M's paint scheme I made in honor of my favorite driver, Kyle Busch, who tragically passed away 3 weeks ago. I was car number 1, fastest in practice, fastest in Qualifying, had the start of my life that would have made KB proud...and just ran away with it, leading all 25 laps. With 5 to go, I began welling up, but told myself to lock in because anything could happen. I had a 4 second lead on 2nd place, which due to some not as fast corners, shrank down to 3 seconds. White flag came in the air and I called myself all the way back to the line, queuing up the radio and saying "This one's for you KB!"
While this is my first dirt oval win, this win will mean more to be than anything else ever will on iRacing.
I miss you Rowdy. This one was for you.
