Sitting in West facing window. Tons of sun and I haven't watered them. Why so much etoliation?

I got these Carrera Echo frames today. It says I have a firmware update. Apparently I have to put them on the charging dock to update the firmware. But it also says to keep the stems open in order to stay connected. Can somebody point me in the right direction on how the heck to do that because I'm about to return them.

Some of them were in poor dirt. I found some good stuff and kind of grouped them together. They probably have wildly varying water needs. And I'm sure someone will tell me that in the comments.

Why does Walmart have their succulents and cacti in the worst soil possible?

Got these from Etsy today. Super gritty soil mix. I hope they do well.
