I just got this message from the seller in Aliex after ordering an X4.
They say the device:
- does not support online firmware update
- cannot be upgraded or flashed on its own
- and that most buyers are choosing to refund
They even suggest cancelling the order with the reason “I don’t need it” for an instant refund, or accepting it as is and they will still ship it.
At first I thought this was a bit sketchy, but after checking here and around the community, it seems this is actually a known issue and people have been talking about it today
At the same time, I’ve seen that there is now an unlocker workaround that supposedly bypasses this limitation, and some users are already using it successfully so lets see
Because of that, I told them to go ahead and ship it.
I’ll try the unlocker when it arrives, and I ordered another X3 also lets see how it goes
