I want to get a white x4. I want buttons, affordable and usbc. Should I try Aliexpress?

I’ve released CrossPDF, a fork of CrossInk that adds on-device PDF reflow for Xteink readers.

Instead of displaying a complete PDF page scaled down to the small screen, CrossPDF extracts the reading content and sends it through the existing EPUB reader. You can use the device’s normal font, text size, spacing, margins, page turns, bookmarks, clippings, and reading progress.

Everything happens directly on the reader. There is no desktop conversion, upload service, or duplicate converted book to manage. Copy a PDF to the SD card and open it. The first opening prepares reusable reading data, while later openings use the cached version.

The current release includes:

• Chapters and table of contents
• Internal links and page labels
• Bookmarks and clippings
• Word-based reading progress
• Supported images
• Tiny and XLarge firmware builds

CrossPDF is based on the original open-source CrossInk firmware. The PDF work is intended primarily for readable, text-based documents, so feedback on unusual or complex PDFs is especially useful.

My x3 doesn't seem to want to connect to my networks but I am happy to use the sd card. Only problem is that I really would like a custom background. I have tried naming the image sleep, tried naming the folder sleep and Sleep, the image is in .bmp format and made sure to resize it so it fits. I am stumped. Any ideas?

Edit: Just tried opening it through the folder option manually and it appears all black but when the epub covers have no issue, maybe this has something to do with it?

Edit 2: It now shows up when I manually open it however it still will not show up as wallpaper.

Edit 3: I did it! So I knew you had to set it to custom wallpaper in the settings but I didn't know you had to navigate to the image itself in the folder and manually set it to power off screen; thanks for all the help!

First off - Ordered on 4th August, received on 18th August. No custom duty charged luckily. The value mentioned on the package was about $1, crazy!

The device feels awesome but delicate. I am afraid of breaking it and as such I am looking for flip-covers/cases but there are hardly any options to get it in India. Any suggestions?

PS: I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that they bundle 2 magnetic rings and a glass for the screen in the box!

Good afternoon. Do you think the white X4 Pro will be available for purchase? The website only sells the black model, but the reviewers had white X4 Pro.

What’s new

🌙 Dark Mode for reading
A new dark reading option is now available under More > Advanced > Dark Mode while reading.

• Reading progress not syncing correctly to the app

• An occasional password prompt when connecting Bluetooth while reading TXT files

A quick note about Dark Mode:
Because of the characteristics of E Ink displays, some ghosting may be more noticeable on pages containing images. We’ll continue optimizing the experience in future updates.

Some customization options have also been prepared in this release and will continue to be expanded in upcoming firmware versions.

I ordered the X4 almost 9 days ago, but I still haven’t received any update regarding shipping.

For those of you in germany, how long did it take for your order to be shipped? Is it normal to have no shipping update after a week or so? Wrote already 2 mails @ support - so yeah..

I'm planning to order the Xteink 4 Pro to Poland (EU), but I have a quick question about their shipping carrier.

Their website mentions DHL, but since I'm rarely home during typical delivery hours, I want to make sure of the exact service they use:

• Does it ship via standard DHL Parcel (which usually gets handed off to local postal services / parcel lockers) or DHL Express (direct courier requiring a signature)?
• For those who recently ordered to the EU/Poland, what was your actual delivery timeline from order to doorstep?

Has anyone else found the SD Plugins Beta 4 on the X3 exceptionally slow? I have had to revert to v1.6.0rc to maintain any acceptable responsiveness. I had the earlier Plugins beta working, even if it was a bit hanky.

I’m seriously contemplating purchasing an X3 since they are offering 3 day 15% off sale. I have a feeling that the X4 with back light might be coming out next. Should I wait or go for the x3?

Yesterday, my koreader syncing was working on my X4. Suddenly today, it fails with "Authentication Failed Network Error"

I was on CrossPoint 1.5.0, I tried also on 1.6.0rc, and both had the same problem. It's not a problem with my credentials, as I put in an incorrect password and the same error happened. It's not fully my WiFi connection - other WiFi features for File Transfer all worked fine on the same network, and I also tried on my phone hotspot and it had the same issue.

Anyone else experiencing this suddenly / is this a known issue? Thanks!

Update: okay I changed from https://sync.koreader.rocks/ to the crosspoint server, and it's working now... anyone know if https://sync.koreader.rocks/ is down?

No matter which wifi I try to connect to, the reader asks for a password. This is fine when there is a password to use, but I can't connect to open wifi connections. Even when there isn't a password, I am asked for a password, how do I work around this? The Pro also doesn't recognize my phones hotspot, something I was able to use with the X4, is there a way I can get it to find my hotspot?
