What’s new

🌙 Dark Mode for reading
A new dark reading option is now available under More > Advanced > Dark Mode while reading.

⚙️ More reading customization

Added Reuse last reading settings under Settings > Reading settings
Added Reading side key customization under Settings > Buttons & interaction
Added Auto sleep, Auto power off, Auto light off, and Micro brightness adjustment under Settings > General
Font anti-aliasing is now off by default for newly opened books

Fixes & improvements

We’ve also fixed several known issues, including:

Reading progress not syncing correctly to the app
Compatibility issues with certain Bluetooth page turners
An occasional password prompt when connecting Bluetooth while reading TXT files
Other display and stability improvements

A quick note about Dark Mode:
Because of the characteristics of E Ink displays, some ghosting may be more noticeable on pages containing images. We’ll continue optimizing the experience in future updates.

Some customization options have also been prepared in this release and will continue to be expanded in upcoming firmware versions.

EPUB Reading Experience Update XT V5.6.33

We've released a new firmware update focused on improving the EPUB reading experience.

What's new:

• EPUB now supports larger image display for a more enjoyable reading experience

Supported image formats within EPUB:

XTG, XTH, JPG, and PNG

BMP images are not currently supported.

• Improved EPUB layout rendering and optimized several known issues to provide a smoother reading experience

We at Xteink are excited to share the latest overseas firmware update for X3 and X4 devices. This update brings improvements to the UI, reading experience, and some new features based on your feedback.

Here’s what’s new:

Completely refreshed UI for a smoother, more intuitive experience
EPUB image display toggle in settings — works for all books, letting you choose whether to display images
Custom font support for better reading experience. You can set it up through the App: Devices → Explore → Xteink Font Builder (Support xtf font format)
X3 Flip page option — flip pages left or right according to your preference
Optimized EPUB reading experience for improved text and layout
Added reading history in the app

Notes for users:

Make sure your device is updated to the latest firmware to access all new features

After installing the update, please rebuild the index on any book you open:

Open a book
Press the OK / Confirm button to open the menu
Select “Index” to reload the book’s content
