XT Licorice’s latest system update note indicates length issues were found and corrected in this update.

Did an epub violate the standard and now XT needs to code around it, as users find and report them?

Did XT not follow the epub standard to process the epub originally?

I know there’s now an epub v3 standard format, what is it, please, in layman terms? It all fits in one file, then is pulled apart by the reader code.

I just finished my summer read, The Count of Monte Cristo, which I thought was great but the ending was meh.

My delivery date of Friday September 4th keeps slipping day by day to now it’s tomorrow, Sept 8th.

A throwback to a previous chapter of a similar topic! (No spoilers, I’m being deliberately vague.)

A little more than 2 weeks ago I had a guy replace my 2017 RAV4 Radio/GPS with the ~$200 USD CarPlay unit for that model seen on Amazon.

I’ve been in touch a bit with the units support team via their FortDows gmail account.

I now have 16gb of MP3’s on a USB Flashdrive in the supplied port that now in my glove box. The MP3’s are in a hierarchical folder structure as seen in Apple Songs / iTunes folders. The unit’s File Manager app sees the drive as USB and I can tap around the folders and files. The Music app sees the folder names as Artist and Album names and will lost them. I can scroll through them on the unit screen to play them. The unit cannot recognize Playlist files, extension M3U.

The Radio app works well. I tuned to 6 different stations I list to in the area and long-tap set 6 preset buttons to then. The Radio plays but is not visible in CarPlay, but I can use steering wheel control to move up and down the presets.

The Radio app has a tiny font and a very narrow window that shows not much of the song title. Support tells me this cannot be changed by a setting.

For both the Radio and Musics apps I can use a steering wheel control to up or down the volume.

I have downloaded a 900mb wide-area Google Map to use offline. To get it, turn off your phone Bluetooth and wifi so that the unit is fully offline. Connect it to a strong wifi router. Start the Maps app, log in to Google Maps, get to your settings for downloading offline maps, set your map area and download. Be very patient. It just stares at you while building the map, then start downloading very slowly, much slower than the same network does to your phone or tablet. After that, you can Navigate to an address. You’ll see business names on the map, but you can’t tap them for more info, you won’t get traffic alerts, it’s offline. Without navigating you can be a blue dot in the center as the map scrolls. The downloaded map expires after a year or may need updating sooner.

So far, I am very happy with how this device has integrated into my Ravvy!

My new in-dash head unit for CarPlay and basic head-unit Androids apps for radio and music has a USB port to play audio and video files on the 10” screen from a FlashDrive.

So, I copied 16gb of my CDs I’ve ripped over the years from my iMac iTunes Songs directory to the flash drive.

The Music app on the head-unit reads and enumerates the many files and folders into Albums and Artists lists, but a PlayList button finds nothing.

Is there software for my iMac that I can point at the FlashDrive to create Playlists files I can use in the car?

Apologies if I am not asking this clearly, but this after-market radio replacement works great but is so poorly documented.
