Today I was on my Big Back activities 🤣 I went to McDonald's for a medium fries , they have the best fries! Then headed over to Burger king to scratch my charbroiled Whooper itch! I have a Whooper once a year and I wanted to see how it's been since they advertised improvements. So got a Whooper meal with chicken fries instead of their fries as I hate BKs fries. Their Sprite zero has that spicy like McDonald's Sprite LOL.
I am now satisfied 😏😏
Have you guys gone to two different fast food joints to complete a meal?
I havent been to a Burger King in years (decades, actually) Way back then i could order a “mustard Whopper” and the staff behind the counter knew that was a burger with mustard, lettuce, pickles, onions and tomato. No mayo. No ketchup. Essentially a BK version of a Whataburger.
Would a store today know what i wanted if i ordered a mustard Whopper or would i have to tell them specifically what i wanted?
Lemme tell you, I was never a Burger King fan until I moved and there was one right across the street and I fell in love. I’ve had Burger King maybe 5 times in my life until I moved. And those 5 times were only for breakfast (my mom loved the hash browns) it was never an option in my head when I was hungry for fast food. But lemme tell you, it’s my fixation sometimes. My only question is, it’s amazing food but why can they not mix the shakes ever! Do they have mixers or do it by hand bc they clearly just add the syrup to vanilla ice cream. Or is that just how they like to do it? Not really bothered by it, just curious lol I also wish they made bigger sizes, I’m small but eat like it’s my last meal. Sometimes I order 2 for myself 🫣Attached picture of the shake from my amazing meal
So, I have had really bad luck as of late with Burger King and it's gotten very old. Last 2 times I went to one in particular, a month or so apart, the ice cream machine has been down. (Maybe it's really a McD's in disguise?) First time, I took a coupon to get one later. (Big mistake...since you know...machine still isn't working.)
Second time, I ended up having to get a refund on it because it was down again.
I decided today to visit another location as I wanted to try the orange freeze. Well, struck out again. Not because of the ice cream machine, but the orange ran out and they were just about to fill it. Unfortunately I didn't have time to wait around so I asked about a refund and was told I'd have to handle it through the app.
I figured as much, but wanted to just streamline the process if possible. So...I did, as I did last time, letting them know the issue and that I'd just like a refund. As usual, they try and give you crowns instead of your money back. I told them that I likely wouldn't be going back to any BK for a while and they'd likely expire before I did. I was then informed that they aren't allowed to give refunds that I could only have crowns. They have since gone silent on me since I called them out on their lie.
Guess it looks like once it posts, I'm just going to have to file a charge back...over a $4 order. (Yes, it's a tiny amount, which just makes it more ridiculous, but I'm not giving BK free money, no matter how small.)
Edit: Just a little edit in case it's not clear. I didn't give the person at the store a hard time. It's not their fault, obviously. My issue is with the e-mail customer service saying they cannot provide a refund via the app, even though I have in the past.
I quit going to BK for probably over a decade after I gave up on the quality. I returned a few months ago and have probably been at least once a week as I am loving the resurgence with the new Whopper quality. It really got me thinking: what specific thing would you change about BK that’s actually attainable for the chain?
My suggestion: bigger sauce tubs. I love the zesty sauce.
I work at bk in France and have been for a few years now
I've been reading the sub and comments and I'm quite curious because it seems it's going much differently elsewhere so I have a few questions for you
- how often do you clean the broilers/appliances? I've read that apparently it's somewhere between every day and never
- is it true that you microwave burgers before giving them to customers
- gas broiler? I've read about it a few times but unless I'm very mistaken, our broilers here are 100% electric (and still produce flames)
- are you still obligated to take orders at the counters and don't have kiosks? Or is it a minority?
- more American service related but is it true that you aren't allowed to say no to customers even if they ask for something completely impossible and you could get in trouble/get fired for it even though you litteraly can't do anything for them ? (For example idk someone coming in and asking to purchase prescription medication, I'm exaggerating but you get the point)
Will gladly answer any questions you may have about how it's going in France!
The last 5 years I have worked at BK we closed early for the 4th of July, usually 7 or 8pm. Not this year, these asshats had us working regular hours. 2 people called out and one person quit plus one trainee. We knew we were going to get super busy around 11pm and sure enough. If I knew it was regular hours I would have requested it off...anywhere Rant over
A bacon king burger w/ swiss cheese, bbq and mayo, french fries and a watermelon lemonade

So i’m not sure if it’s just me but any time i bring these up in a conversation everyone doesn’t know what im talking bout but who remembers these?? they were so good and i’d always have my papou take me to get some
A while ago, I said I was going to put two triple whoppers together to make a 6 patty Whopper. Here it is.
Seems small, doesn't it?
EDIT: I finished the whole thing in 10 minutes...I am never doing that again.
so the BK I work at is in Texas and summer is brutal here. our a/c either isn't working or just can't keep up, I'm not sure. apparently from what my coworkers have said it's been worked on but it's still struggling. the kitchen gets to be around 90 degrees and it's unbearable. I'm just wondering what I can do here in terms of getting some attention to this issue/my store and getting it fixed? thanks to anyone who has any advice
So I ordered a jalapeño whopper meal, cashier which didn’t seem to understand English was like ‘whopper jr meal large?’ I said no the jalapeño whopper meal large. She was like ok and rung me up. I didn’t notice until i got home she gave me a jalapeño whopper Jr. which I didn’t even think existed. I never said Junior.. please BK put English speaking employees at the register ffs.
Stopped by one my nearby Burger Kings yesterday and noticed this makeshift memorial. According to the card, Roger was one of their regular customers who came in for breakfast almost every day. He died in mid-November 2025. They're still keeping Roger's table open for him 7 months later with a memorial plaque and freshcut flowers, encircled with a BK crown.
What kind of legacy will you leave at your BK?
Haven't went to burger king since 2023 when the location in my area closed, bought a whopper meal from one in the city and the fries were half empty and the overall meal tasted mid, I can see why this place is struggling miserably in a funny way, used to love the king but now I don't
