Whopper Wednesday

I've been seeing a lot of posts about Whopper Wednesday lately. I worked at Burger King for 7 years in the 90's. I figured I'd post some pictures I took of our menu board back then. Image getting a 99¢ Whopper every day!

Edit: From what I can remember, the Whopper wasn't supposed to be a part of the $.99 menu which is why it didn't have a red background. But our store added it to compete with a larger franchise in the area.

Jeannette Glass Wedding Bowls

I saw a post earlier about Jeanette Glass Wedding Bowls. I live in Jeannette PA and several members of my family worked for Jeannette Glass. I still have 2 gold plated wedding bowls still in the original boxes. I've attached the pictures of the original instruction sheet that came with them and a few of my wedding bowls in those configurations.

Fanhome Synth Attack Ship

The Synth Attack Ship has arrived. It's about 90% diecast for a change. It's not very long, but it's as wide as a standard size Fanhome ST ship. It is very thin, so there's not much in the way of a side or front view of it. I included a picture with the other 2 Starfleet drone ships. If you look closely, the Section 31 drone makes up the middle part of the Synth Ship. I'd call it a Deimos Class, but that's not stated in the magazine.

Fanhome USS Aledo NA-01

Fanhome Star Trek Starship issue 21, the USS ALEDO. I'm quite pleased with it for the most part. Rumor had it that it may be small, but it's the standard size. I posted a side by side with Fanhome XL, Standard size and substandard size ships. The only disappointing thing is that the only part that's diecast is the "U" shaped bit on the upper hull where the ship registry is. All in all a good start to the extended collection.

USS Desselhaus NCC 325019

The latest and next to last Fanhome 32 century starship has arrived. Issue 20 the USS Dresselhaus! My first 8 nacelle Federation ship. Personally, I love a Starfleet ship that Isn't just a saucer and some warp nacelles.

The designer wanted it to be as odd as possible and I believe he achieved his goal, I love it!

Doctor Who and the Dog's Milk

I was watching my DVD of the animated Doctor Who serial Power of the Daleks and took a picture of the notice board the rebels in the story were using to send secret messages. The message mentioned rations of Dog's Milk being available soon. Considering no live action episodes of this serial exist, do you think this was put in as a Red Dwarf Easter egg by the animators? Maybe Dog's Milk is common in other parts of the world, but everything I know about it is from Red Dwarf.

USS Armstrong NCC 317856

I received my Fanhome USS Armstrong, Constitution Class (or Kirk class to STO fans). I really love it. It's a good looking ship that we didn't get to see too much of on screen. The saucer and secondary hull are detached of course, a feature I know so many fans love! I didn't think we would get any 32nd century ships from Fanhome, so I am excited we are getting 3. I can't wait for the weird USS Dresselhaus next month and the USS Athena in a few months time.
