anyone know how to get back into a google account you forgot the password to? it’s linked to an old number of my that i no longer have, i’m trying to get back into my YouTube channel it’s still connected to my tv if that means anything but it’s not on my phone; i had been trying to fix a glitch issue with my second account that wouldn’t let me watch anything on the app and ofc i go to google and saw advice to log out of all the accounts and relog in which leads me to my current situation of not being able to get back into my main account ☹️

pls tell me i won’t have to make another and can get her back

I am being bombarded with Account Recovery requests. Bombarded may be overstating it a little bit, but I'm getting 3-10 requests a day and oftentimes 5 or 6 in a row. Of course I hit "No" every time it asks if it is me trying to recover.

I have Advanced Protection turned on. My phone set up as a passkey. I have an excellent password that is completely unique to Google. I also changed my password just to be safe. I've logged in and I recognize all of my connected devices.

I am pretty sure that I haven't been hacked, but I am being targeted. The messages that come along with the account recovery prompts state that my password hasn't been compromised, but the persistence of the hacker still worries me. It's been going on for about 2 weeks. I suppose the hacker is attempting to guess my passwords using old compromised ones bought off the web. I am mostly afraid of inadvertently hitting "Yes" to a prompt just one time and then I'm cooked. I don't THINK that completely opens me up, but I'm not 100% certain. I plan to get a physical security key, but I don't think that bypasses the Account Recovery prompts either.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks.

Hi ive tried to recover a gmail that i made as a kid,it containts important information, the times i try to log in i only use the passwords that i remember using as a kid i do not remember having a recover gmail/phone its been years since the last time i used that gmail i don't know if the tablet that i used to make the gmail still works or charges thank you for your attention.

recently today, googles gemini said if i erase my passwords and everything on google it will still be on my devices and so i did and everything is gone but i still have my passkeys and im logged into some of my accounts of which the passwords was deleted on so i can recover it. But this is your word not to trust googles gemini, heres what gemini said:

“Ah, I see it now. I am so sorry-resetting the sync data via the Google dashboard wiped the cloud storage vault because that data was strictly bound to the passphrase encryption lock you didn't have the key for.
Because the passwords were encrypted with a custom passphrase on Google's servers, the cloud literally couldn't read them or decrypt them, meaning clearing the sync cache wiped them from the account view.”

So you know how every university and workplace makes you sign up for some google account? Yeah. Over the past 10+ years I've hit the limit of times I can use my phone number. I'm going insane.

I do not want to change my number and lose contact with a ton of people. There is no "try another way" option, just a QR code, so I can't even use a friend's phone. Have tried with VPN on and off, on my desktop computer and my phone (ios) on different networks. AI assistant is no help per usual, and obviously no customer support.

Is there any way around this? I'm going crazy fr. Only thing I can see is "wait some undefined amount of time and maybe it'll work then." Wtf??? I'm so confused.

The whole context of this situation, I had my iPhone 11 for almost 5+ years and my entire life was on that phone. I had just recently changed my number since switching my cell provider so I changed my phone number on all of my accounts, or at least I thought I did. Then a couple days ago, my phone fell in a fast current river and was not able to retrieve it. The next day, I went and bought a new phone and was logging back into all my accounts from social media to bills. Since Apple has all my passwords saved, I was able to get back into most of my accounts.

Google was my biggest issue I came across. I was not able to login because my old gmail was still registered to my old number. And all my alternative emails were still having me verify that it was in fact me, through my old gmail. And since google doesn’t have an actual support contact, I accepted my fate that I was never going to get that old gmail back so I created a new gmail.

Now, I just got notified that my new gmail is under investigation in violation of creating multiple accounts under the new gmail, which I have not. And that I cannot use the new gmail during current investigation. They had me write an appeal as to “what I was doing with the new email before investigation”. I just wrote that I lost my last gmail and was not able to recover it through any and all of the alternative ways provided so I created a new gmail. And that is Google’s last resort solution to “if choosing ‘try another way’ does not work, you may have to create a new account” WHICH IS WHAT I DID and now I can’t even use it. I’m worried if I make another account, they’re going to do it again and disable my future gmail accounts.

3 days ago, Google sent my dad an email saying a sign-in attempt was blocked because of suspicious activity. Today, he got signed out of his Google account and now we can't get back in. (I'm not sure if he got signed out today or just realised it today)

He doesn't remember the password, and the one we think is correct isn't working. When we click "Try another way," it only gives us options like Google Authenticator (which he never had), sending a code to his Gmail (which we can't access), or another recovery email that looks like "bra......@ou..... com". He doesn't recognize this email at all and has never used Outlook.

He also doesn't have backup codes.

Has anyone had something similar happen? Especially the unknown Outlook recovery email part? If you managed to get your account back, what actually worked?

Would really appreciate any help 😭😭😭

My phone was reset, and since then I’ve been locked out of both my Instagram and WhatsApp accounts.

My Instagram account is linked to an email that I can no longer access. That email itself has 2FA enabled, and I don’t remember its password. During email recovery, one verification code comes to my phone number, but the second code is sent to the same email account that I’m not logged into. I also don’t have a passkey, so I’m stuck at that step.

Because I can’t recover this email, I’m also unable to complete my Instagram recovery. Instagram’s verification code is also not arriving on this particular phone number, even though other codes work on my other number.

The same inaccessible email is linked to my WhatsApp as the recovery email. I forgot my WhatsApp two-step verification PIN, so WhatsApp is also locked and the recovery email is inaccessible.

I still have my phone number and these are my accounts. Is there any legitimate recovery method, workaround, or official form that could help me regain access to the email first, and then Instagram and WhatsApp? Any advice would really help.

yesterday, i found some suspicious things on my account , like someone tried to hack into it and after a few hours i found out that i couldn't use my Google account anymore , the password is still the same , but whenever I try to get it back , there's the 2fa option in it with a number that I don't recognize and that's from another country , and whenever i try to log in and get it back , with the back up address there's someone cancelling the request

2 days ago i noticed some suspicious activity on my account and tried to change the password which was successful but then i believe my account was locked. I am still logged in at the g.co/recovery page but any attempt to log in to email or youtube or any related linked account requires me to recover the account. It just says not enough info to verify every time i try. I know the current password and have access to recovery phone and email but there is no option to use these. Is this just a waiting game at this point? I know i probably screwed myself by trying to log in but whats my next step here? And if the account is done for then how to i cancel all the payments asociated to my google play account because i cant log in there either.

The hacker changed the password and added parental access. Now recovery only shows the parent account they added, so I can't log in. How can I recover my account?

My Gmail account got hacked. I still have the correct email address and the password (they both work), but the hacker changed the phone number on the account. Now every time I try to log in, Google asks me to verify through that new number, which isn’t mine anymore, so I’m locked out even though I technically have the “right” credentials.

What I’ve tried so far:
Standard Google sign-in (blocked immediately by the 2FA request to the new number)
The general account recovery form (g.co/recover) — same issue, it eventually asks for the phone verification
What i can do more ? Or it’s done ?

my dad made a new account for a game, it’s basically a farming game and stuff. anyways, the main problem is that when he logged into the Gmail account that was connected to the farm game, it somehow logged him out from all the devices. now whenever i try to log back into the account or recover it, it asks me to enter a phone number to verify the account.

my dad actually has a phone number added to the account as a recovery option, and there is also a recovery email connected to the account. so we do have recovery information linked to the account, but for some reason i still can’t get back into it. i tried putting in all of my phone numbers and also my dad’s phone numbers, but none of them are working. after trying a few times, it started saying that there have been too many failed attempts, so now i can’t really do anything else.

the problem is that it has already been around one month, and i still haven’t been able to help my dad recover the account. we have the recovery phone number and recovery email, so i know the account has those options set up, but i’m still getting stuck during the recovery process. i’m just trying to get the Gmail account back so my dad can access the farm game again, but i’m kind of stuck because i don’t know what other way there is to recover it.

when it says unsuccessful attempts i wait till the next day same problem.

edit: it has been doing like this for a motn and he never even tried to use the number and whoever downvoted you never even understood the post idea. im not stupid 😭
