You can decide which reality to go to; that's a fundamental truth of shifting, but no one tells you about the nuances involved.
Do you think the people there will be the same as in the TV series? How do you think you'll wake up?
Things you don't think about or remain undecided about change how things happen. A character you like might be a better person in your desired reality than they would be in the written story, because that's how you see them.
Do you think anime worlds will look like anime when you arrive? Some might say yes, others that you can choose, but those who didn't think about it saw it the same as in the anime simply because they didn't consider it.
Depending on your perspective on something in your desired reality, it will change.
Upon arrival, some people say, "You won't need to open your eyes, you'll simply be there," or "The memories of my life in my CR fade into the background." But it's not so much "what happens" upon arrival, but rather what their perspective or thoughts have led them to experience. Their way of seeing things has brought them to a world that was that way.
Similarly, if you believe there's something you can't control about your desired reality, consider whether you're simply accepting someone else's perspective as truth.
