AITA Ruining the relationship between my two friends?
i did not let myself clear and i corrected some part- This is my first year of college, and I quickly made two friends, Luis and Clara. By the first week of classes, they were already dating. It seemed weird to me, but hey, everyone’s free to do what they want.
Two months later, Luis told me he wanted to break up with Clara, that he didn’t find her attractive, that she was really annoying, and that she always wanted his attention. I told him that he is being dumb, that being in a relationship is thinking the opposite he is telling me, and that he was a bad person for saying that, i said to him to not break up with her because her birthday was coming up in two days, so he said the other option was to drift apart from her little by little. I told him not to do that, that it’s awful for the other person and she’d suffer too much.
The next day he told me he’d thought it over and wouldn’t break up with her, but a couple of days ago I saw Clara looking a little sad, so I asked her what was wrong, and she told me that Luis had been really distant with her, didn’t want to spend time with her anymore, and was avoiding her. I felt bad knowing what he was doing, so that same night I told her what Luis might be doing based on what he’d told me earlier. She cried, got angry, and was disappointed. The next day, I was talking to her about a college project when Luis grabbed her phone to talk to me. “Hey, how’s it going?” he said. While he was talking to me, she grabbed Luis's phone and found messages between him and another girl, flirting, and specifically mentioned a message that said, “I want to get to know you better.” She felt awful but didn’t say anything. The next day, she told me she didn’t want to be with Luis anymore but didn’t want to break up with him. she wanted him to do it, by being more annoying and trying to get his attention more often.
I told her that the plan was kinda bad, but she insisted that she wanted that. And rapidly she began to feel uncomfortable being around him, and he noticed that. So today he went to Clara's house to talk to her and clear things up, and a few hours ago Luis called me and said "I have no words, you were my friend", i said "yes, we were friends, but you are not the only one, Clara is my friend too, and you treated her awful and i felt really bad for her, so i told her everything". He said back "You only told her the bad stuff" and i said "Yes because that's all the stuff", He said to never speak to him again i said yes like i didn't care, but i care, i feel bad for that situation and i lost a friend after all. Did i do good? Or maybe i had to keep quiet?
