Google Shopping for young ecommerce with only $250 monthly ad budget?

Hey everyone,

I’m working on the digital strategy for a small e-commerce brand that’s been around for about 1 to 2 years.

They sell wellness products, mostly under €50, and the total paid ads budget is pretty tight: around $250/month across all channels.

I’m trying to figure out what the smartest move would be at this stage. Google Shopping Ads sounds interesting because the products are visual and searchable, but I’m not sure if the budget is too small to get useful data.

If you had this setup, where would you put the first $250/month?

Google Shopping? Meta? TikTok? SEO/content? Email? Something else?

Also curious about:

  1. Is Google Shopping worth testing for low-ticket products under €50?
  2. Would Performance Max be a bad idea with such a small budget?
  3. What would you absolutely fix before spending anything on ads?
  4. At this stage, is it smarter to focus on traffic, conversions, retargeting, or brand awareness?

Any honest advice from people who’ve dealt with small e-commerce budgets would be super helpful.

Thanks!
