Shido Itsuka is the main protagonist of the Date a Live series,

A seemingly ordinary high school student attending Raizen High School in Tengu City—or at least, he was until he became involved in the conflict surrounding the Spirits.

He possesses the unique ability to seal a Spirit's powers by kissing her, and can also wield the powers of the Spirits he has sealed. Thanks to his innate kindness and unwavering sense of justice, Shido has saved many Spirits throughout his journey.

A high school student whose very birth is deeply intertwined with the Spirits. Because of his unique origin, he possesses the ability to seal the overwhelmingly powerful Spirit energy of Spirits, and has continued fighting to achieve peaceful coexistence between humanity and the Spirits.

The first Spirit Shido Itsuka encountered and saved by sealing her Spirit powers. She is an innocent and pure-hearted girl who deeply cares for Shido, and even the name "Tohka" was given to her by him.

According to Mio Takamiya, aside from Mio herself—the First Spirit—Tohka is the only Spirit who was not originally human. Perhaps because of this unique nature, she played an exceptionally important role in the battle against Mio.

The Inverse Tohka that occasionally appears is a separate personality entirely. Unlike the cheerful and innocent Tohka, this alternate self is highly intimidating, domineering, and possesses a completely different temperament.

The first Spirit to be saved by Shido Itsuka. Her name was also given to her by Shido, and ever since then, she has remained deeply devoted to him.

It is said that, unlike the other Spirits, she was not originally human, but rather a Spirit from the very beginning...

Mio is the First Spirit, the very first Spirit to appear in the world. She is also Phantom, the mysterious being who transformed human girls into Spirits; Reine Murasame, who faithfully supported Kotori Itsuka at Ratatoskr; and the very person responsible for creating Shido Itsuka, the "perfect vessel" capable of accepting the Spirit powers of other Spirits.

Everything surrounding the Spirits began with her tragic love story. Carrying the memory of her former lover deep within her heart, Mio ultimately leaves the world—taking Isaac Ray Pelham Westcott with her.

The First Spirit, the very first Spirit to manifest in the world. She is the being who gave birth to the Spirit girls as well as Shido Itsuka.

In the end, she departed from this world, taking Isaac Ray Pelham Westcott—the one who stood as an enemy of the Spirits—with her.

A Spirit girl who, due to a tragic event in her past, locked away her own heart with the power of her Angel and secluded herself in outer space. The abilities of her Angel were overwhelming, enabling her to perform spatial teleportation, seal spiritual power, and even break down matter at the molecular level, causing Shido and the others no end of trouble.

In the end, Shido succeeded in unlocking Mukuro's heart, allowing her to open herself up to him and the other Spirits. Her long hair, which was once praised by her beloved older sister, is a source of great pride to her. There was even a time when having it cut caused her to lose control and go berserk.

A Spirit who spent a long time drifting through outer space while carrying the trauma of her human life. Through Shido's actions, she was eventually freed from that trauma.

Like Kotori Itsuka, Yoshino, and Natsumi, she belongs to the "younger group" among the Spirits.
