Help me decide on jumping into the a6700 ecosystem versus upgrading to the newest iphone pro

My photo and video needs have been met by my iphone up until now - I currently have an iphone 15pro, so it has reasonable standard lens, 24mm equivalent lens (48MP, reasonable computational photography) for viewing of photos and videos on ipads and phones, and the occasional print hung above a couch at 16x20”

The shortcomings have been 1) recitals and 2) sports. The kiddos are signing up and doing more of both these events. I wish the recital organizers had better videos, but they are quite poor - I can barely make out which one is my kid, and cannot see any facial expressions. I’ve tried recording from the front row of the audience with the ultrawide 13mm (to capture the whole stage without much moving) but its limited to 12MP and the sensor size - I can barely make out the kiddos at all. Similarly, at soccer, I can capture picture and videos, but the quality is so poor with the 5x zoom

I figure I would do one of the following two things:

  1. a6700, viltrox 9mm f2.8, sony 70-350 (and keep iphone 15pro for point and shoot and standard zooms) - will the photos and videos from the ultrawide and telephoto be comparable in quality to the standard zoom from the iphone?
  2. upgrade to the 17pro with 48mp ultrawide and 4x optical zoom 48mp telephoto

Sorry for the long-winded post, but looking for any insight for my particular use cases. Thanks in advance
