Took some photos at a trendy beer bar and the owner asked if he could use them for a social media post. First time that's ever happened.
SGimage 25mm f1.8
Hi guys. I've recently bought a a6700 and the sony 55-210 and I need a main lens. I want a prime lens cause it has a higher glass quality and is brighter. I've been thinking about the sigma 30mm f1.4 but I'm not sure. Are there any better options? This lens will be a one do it all lens. Some portraits, landscapes etc. Any recomendations?
I'm looking for a bag that would hold:
Probably a sling bag is preferred, but I'm open to other suggestions (messenger, etc). Would appreciate opinions on this. I found that all my existing gear generally can't accommodate the 70-350 while mounted on the A6700.
Weird airshow as the city doesn’t currently have an airfield, they flew pretty far away and for short periods, so it was mostly spray and pray but I had fun!
This is going to my first trip in a while and I am pretty excited. However I am trying to narrow down my lens choices. I have a sigma 18-50, sigma 56, sony 11mm, and viltrox 27.
I was thinking of taking the viltrox 27 and sony 11. But Dont know if I am going to miss out on the higher end and should swap in my 18-50? Would love to hear from you all.
Recently bought a6700 along with sony 50mm f1.8 & sony 18-105 mm f4 from a secondary market since it was a good deal, I have upgraded from canon 200d ii and my only purpose is to take videos, specifically videos for gym content creators,I want to learn about every settings, menu options filters, base ISOs ...like everything,so is there a tutorial for a beginner with a6700 ? May be a article or a youtube video or any post or a book like anything that would help me ???
Hi everyone, I’m currently using the A6400 and I’m considering upgrading to the A6700 mainly because of the improved autofocus and the newer menu system. I mainly take photos and don’t do much video work, but I’m heading on safari soon, so I thought the autofocus improvements would be a big help. If anyone has upgraded from the A6400 to the A6700, I’d love to hear what you think!
For reference, I have a few lenses currently:
• Tamron 18-300 f3.5-6.3
• Sigma 18-50 f2.8
• Viltrox 15mm f1.7
• Viltrox 28mm f4.5
I’ve been using Sony cameras for years, since the Nex 5…
Wish Sony would split the menu in 2, like half for things that are actually useful and likely to be used, and the other half for gibberish and useless stuff…
Rant over 🤣

One of the best lightweight birding setups right now?
We’ve been testing this setup quite heavily during recent travel, including a trip through China, and honestly it impressed me more than expected.
Camera:
Sony A6700
Lens:
Sony 70-350mm G OSS
Because of the APS-C crop factor, the lens effectively reaches around 525mm equivalent on the long end, while still staying relatively compact and lightweight.
Specs that make this combo really interesting for birding/travel:
I personally shoot with a Sony A9 + 200-600mm, which is amazing, but after long travel days, hiking, airports, and city movement, the weight difference becomes very noticeable 😅
This A6700 + 70-350 setup feels like one of the best current travel birding combinations in terms of:
Posting a few sample shots from the setup.
In your opinion, what’s currently the best lightweight birding setup in terms of portability, reach, autofocus, and image quality?
My photo and video needs have been met by my iphone up until now - I currently have an iphone 15pro, so it has reasonable standard lens, 24mm equivalent lens (48MP, reasonable computational photography) for viewing of photos and videos on ipads and phones, and the occasional print hung above a couch at 16x20”
The shortcomings have been 1) recitals and 2) sports. The kiddos are signing up and doing more of both these events. I wish the recital organizers had better videos, but they are quite poor - I can barely make out which one is my kid, and cannot see any facial expressions. I’ve tried recording from the front row of the audience with the ultrawide 13mm (to capture the whole stage without much moving) but its limited to 12MP and the sensor size - I can barely make out the kiddos at all. Similarly, at soccer, I can capture picture and videos, but the quality is so poor with the 5x zoom
I figure I would do one of the following two things:
Sorry for the long-winded post, but looking for any insight for my particular use cases. Thanks in advance
P1: Red-whiskered Bulbul
P2: White-breasted Waterhen
P3: Common Tailorbird
P4: Light-vented Bulbul
P5: Chinese Pond Heron
P6: Black-crowned Night Heron
P7: Little Grebe
P8: Little Egret
I know Sony a6700s are rated for shutter counts of up to 200,000 but I’ve heard of other camera models with lower shutter ratings go up to 3 or 4x the rating.
I’ve heard of Canon 7D Mark 2s (rated for about 200,000 actuations) go up to 300,000 or 400,000 shutter counts with no issues.
So I was wondering what the highest shutter counts for the Sony a6700 are.
Thanks in advance!
Really great combo, bird eye AI auto focus and IBIS is a game changer after coming from the A6100.
