How long did it take from the first PCP appointment till your date of surgery. And how convincing did you have to do with your doctor to get the referral?

I (39yr F) am thinking very seriously about getting gastric bypass surgery. I have had a hysterectomy and also have pcos from what I have read and researched it seems very beneficial for me. But I fear that it could interfere with my life. Maybe this fear is because I don’t know anyone who and don’t this but also because obviously it something new to me. Is there anyone here who has a similar situation as I do. What have been the benefits? What have you struggled with the most?
