Any advice on bad germination for cold season flowers?

Any advice on bad germination for cold season flowers?

Hello all. I sown about 40 to 50 seeds of snapdragons, delphium and campanula. Only 3 seeds have germinated so far (see the large clear tote in the back) and it's been nearly two weeks.

They are in a garage with a full spectrum growlight, in a mix of compost, potting soil, perlite and worm castings. I also made sure to sift it throughly.

I bottom water and occasionally mist on top. When do I give up? I've got some Bells of Ireland/Pixie Bells that have not germinated, and it's been about a month, so I'm considering tossing those.

Just dissapointed because this is the first year I am trying ranunculus, and I dug them up yesterday after more than a month only to discover they all rotted lol.

Any advice is appreciated, we are currently heading into winter so I am unsure whats going on. I live in an equivalent of a USDA zone 10b.

Yaz - postive stories please?

Started Yaz yesterday (i am 29, F) and would really like to hear some positive stories. My main concerns are effects on energy/mood, creativity, eczema and impact on weight. Choose this mainly to help with PMDD (I'm already on an SNRI but needed something to just stabilize me more because every luteal phase all my progress is wrecked)

I see lots of scary stuff on here regarding Yaz, so anything would be useful.

My first two days have been fine, no bad side effects. About 6 to 8 hrs after taking the first pill, my eczema flared intensely and I was soooo itchy, but has since chilled out so I think it was coincidence cuz it didn't happen after the second one.

Taking higher dose Venlafaxine during lutheal phase and period?

Hello all. I've got a question for you. I've been on venlafaxine for probably about 2 years now, which I originally started taking for PMDD (not intermittently though, I took 37.5mg for two weeks, then 75mg every day for a year)

Highest dose I was on, was 150mg, and managed to come down to only needing half a dose of 37.5mg for the past few months. It seems to work fine, except during the 10 days leading up to my period, then I need the full 37.5mg dose.

To be honest, I don't like staying at 37.5mg dose because it makes it very hard to lose weight. I can lose somewhat on the half dose, but it seems to be near impossible on anything higher than that. I tried adding Wellbrutin for a year, but did little to nothing tbh.

I also cannot do without the venlafaxine as it really does help my PMDD and I work a high stress corporate job, which it is fantastic for.

My question is, does anyone else have experience with taking a lower dose most of the month and a higher one during the lutheal and period phase? I'm just worried I'm screwing up my brain by cycling between doses for this med, since venlafaxine takes so long to build up.

Thoughts on heatmat for snaps, delphinium and ranunculus?

Hello all. So got a question for you. I am fairly new at gardening, been growing a lot of stuff in my yard and grown some basic veggies and flowers from seed, but this is the first time I am trying to start more complex seeds and bulbs indoor.

I'm in the southern hemisphere, so it is autumn at the moment. My area is somewhat similar to what would be considered the US's zone 10b. We have hot summers and wet winters. It doesn't snow in my area at all.

I have sown the following in trays filled with 40% compost, 40% potting soil and 10% perlite, with some worm castings in the mix as well;

- Potomac Snapdragons

- Campamula/Canterbury bells

- Delphinium

Then I'm also attempting to presprout some ranunculus corms (rest is already planted outside in a raised bed, starting a second round indoors).

I've got the corms in the garage and the seeds are all under a growlight - equivalent to the Spiderfarmer SF1000 I believe (but different brand, just same specs). Keeping it on a timer, at 16h a day.

My question is, would these seeds and the corms benefit from having a seedling heat mat under them? I sowed them 4 days ago and one or two have sprouted, out of the 40+. The corms were planted two weeks ago and still nothing.

I know they are cool season flowers so that's why I'm not clear on if a seedling heat mat would be good or not - I don't wanna ruin any progress.

Any help will be much appreciated!!
