We're trying for the top pet and we really need your help to win this! To lay it out there... I've been struggling hard for many years with bipolar and PTSD. I'm finally at a point where therapy is starting to help, but I've been trapped in survival mode for most of my life... It's hard to face the world, to try to find the glimmers when your drowning in triggers.

This beautiful girl (as well as he brother Dexter, a sweet Newfoundland) has helped me through so many issues. My dogs help me to get out of bed every morning, with every walk I'm breathing fresh air, seeing the world even in my darkness days. They comfort me when I'm in deep depression, remind me I'm not alone... That I AM loved and they need me.

I don't want to use the prize money for this contest to buy myself lavish gifts, to spoil them with toys and treats. I want to pay for professional service training. I want to feel safe enough to adventure, to see the world and experience life and with her by my side I can do that. I've tried to train her on my own and she's responding really well to it, but with my issues it's hard to stay consistent. I've looked into the costs and I simple cannot afford to have her trained, so I've been at a loss until I saw this contest.

It's a simple email sign up, and I don't ask for donations, just a free vote. If you choose to donate it will go to the American Humane Society and even if we don't win at least the awareness and donations could help other animals.

We really never enter contests, but this one sounded interesting and I liked the idea of getting our story out there (it'll be 25 years together in November!). I honestly don't think we'll win, we're an odd pair and have little to no social media presence, but maybe the help of our people can make a difference? The price money could make a huge impact for us and allow us to finally start a small animal sanctuary wherever we put down our roots. My husband has also been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis so our dreams of building his dream house from the ground up is out the window. Help us to follow our new dream, creating a safe space for wild animals to rehabilitate.
