The Government is actively causing a private debt crisis

As the economy tanks, the Government is actively shifting debt from the public to working New Zealanders. Big business will continue to syphon up competition as regular people are pushed further and further into crushing debt.

Interest rates are likely to go up, as is electricity as it peaks in winter and all the Government has to offer are job cuts.

This is all political. Economics is not a science. Capitalism is cooked and we are for dinner.

A**holes, c**nts and Traitors Party absolutely raking it in.

ACT grifted $600k from it's millionaire backers in the past week alone. While this is grim beyond belief, it tells me they may be worried about the election and remaining relevant.......hopefully....

We need changes to political donation laws - perhaps the Right's new found love of Finland efficiencies will extend to it's donation limits 🙃

Child poverty has gotten worse under this Government

I haven't seen much coverage (and maybe I missed it) on child poverty during budget festivities.

The Government is more than 3% worse than the intended target - 8% off the 2027 target - and they know it won't improve AT ALL as a result of this budget.

It should be a national shame that reducing child poverty is no longer a priority even if the Government is considering it 'statistically insignificant'.

More than half of the country makes less per year working than Upston claims on 'entitlements'.

Puts into perspective how cooked this really is - millions of New Zealanders make less working full-time than Louise Upston claims on her mortgage free property.

Maybe all these MP 'entitlements' should be means tested? Wouldn't that fit the neoliberal con of NACT?

It was only 6 days after Winston secretly announced $1 million taxpayer dollars to the horse racing industry that NZ First got a nice donation from.....the horse racing industry. This obviously isn't surprising but the handouts to mate for election donations are only going to ramp up.

Genuinely interested in whether people on here are in a union and why or why not. I think one of the greatest 'successes' of the neoliberal project has been the atomisation of community through union busting and there is a direct correlation with dropping standards of living and working. But unions often don't do themselves any favours either.....
