Hello all, I recently had acute onset of tooth pain where I previously had root canal with crown (tooth 12?) I saw a dentist who said I have external resorption around the base of the tooth. I’m unsure what that is and whether it is a cause of acute pain. He gave me antibiotics with referral to endodontist if pain doesn’t improve. I’m feeling overall a bit better after one day of antibiotics. My question is the lucency between the two teeth, is that external resorption and is that similar to infection?
