Tengo 2 años de XP y seguridad a grandes rasgos, en mi aplicacion donde mas meti seguridad, implica:

Proteccion de rate en todas las rutas.

IP blacklist en acciones sospechosas automatizadas.

Auth con password hashing.

Helmet y size limit de requests.

Zod.

Proteccion por rol tanto en front como en back.

Idempotencia en metodos no idempotentes (no se si entra aca).

That, I've been developing a *mostly* client side app in NextJS due to the required interactivity, I'm pretty used to react thanks to that but still can't grasp in my tiny tiny brain how the server side works.

I get that in .NET if you use MVC pattern that's literally SSR, but I don't understand anything related to the server side of NextJS.

SSR is the simplest one, a component but how does it fetch data that requires auth? What are server actions and route handlers?

When to use what and which?

I've been talking to ChatGPT, Claude, reading the docs, looking at examples and everything is just fucking confusing, before NextJS whenever I need some kind of SEO I just set up my own NodeJS server and get the rendered HTML from there but I know that's not how I should do things now.

In my current project, which has been in development for over a year, we do API calls and handle session in the client side of things, thru cookies, how would the server side handle that? Or it just doesn't?

Sorry if I sound too clueless for having 2 years of experience haha.

Me pasa algo raro: después de meses en un proyecto que arranqué prácticamente solo, apoyándome fuerte en IA, llega un punto donde la base queda tan sólida y bien documentada que la propia IA empieza a avanzar casi sin esfuerzo y yo me enfoco o en el diseño del front o alguna relacion que quedo mal del back.

Y ahí aparece el momento de catarsis: ¿cómo mierda armé todo esto?

Cuando me pasa, me clavo algún tutorial básico de React de 2–3 horas 0 to hero x10 dev, como para “resetear” la cabeza y volver a sentir que entiendo lo que estoy haciendo. Después de eso, vuelvo mucho más claro.

Absolutamente todos los subways distintos que he ido (como 7 o 8) en Montevideo, el que te arma los sanguches tiene cara de orto y habla extremadamente bajo o rapido de una forma inentendible, ademas de que siempre estan vacios, como se mantienen? Alguien sabe cuanto pagan?
