CMV: tipping is stupid, raise the price and increase wages

I’m 43 years old and have lived in the US my entire life except for a brief stint in New Zealand. I’m so tired of not knowing when tipping is appropriate, what percent of tip is appropriate, etc. it’s showing up in more and more places and I hate being guilt tripped at checkout. I just found out it’s customary to leave a tip for cleaners at hotels? I have no idea what the appropriate compensation is for housekeeping, please just pay your employees a livable wage so they don’t have to depend on the kindness of strangers.
