Dealing with Persistent Proteinuria

Hey all, I'm new here.

I’ve been dealing with persistent proteinuria for about 8 years and have been regularly seeing a nephrologist. They don't want to give a biopsy since it hasn’t crossed extreme levels.

I did a gene panel and despite being a carrier for nephrotic syndrome type 26, I don't have the condition myself.

My lab numbers seem to fluctuate a lot with no clear trend. I’ll see an improved result, then it goes back up again, and I honestly can’t tell if anything I’m doing is helping or if this is just normal variation.

I'm on multiple medications for this: losartan potassium, atorvastatin calcium, and Jardiance.

For those who’ve been managing this longer, how do you think about progress vs just fluctuation?

Do you track anything yourself between lab visits, or mainly rely on what your doctor tells you?

Would really appreciate hearing how others approach this.
