60 seconds. One Spot with the Ricoh GRIV

Found a puddle under the Highline and spent 60 seconds lying on the pavement with the Ricoh GR IV.
Same spot, same frame, different people walking through every few seconds. The Highline frames the top, the puddle mirrors the bottom, the silhouettes do the rest.
Snap Focus all day. Shot in color edited on iPhone.

These are 20 portraits that have touched me the most over the years, moments I found on my phone but really they found me. Across Latin America, Europe, snd Notth America. Each frame happened when either my subject was caught off guard or I was. Nothing staged, nothing filtered, just real life interrupting both sides of the lens.

Most of these were captured on a monochrome sensor. When you remove color, there is nowhere for emotion to hide. Light, shadow, texture, and expression take over. The image becomes about presence, about truth, about that split second that either pulls you in or lets you walk away.

Though I share with ya’ll. Thanks for looking.
