iPhone Air's Camera portraits are better than my old 15 Pro

I am kinda shocked. I haven't seen it in the reviews mentioning this but when you're in the "Photo" mode. You can basically zoom to 3x and there's an "f" stop sign at the bottom left and I can make the normal photos "Portraits" with excellent, might I say better than my old 15 Pro's 3x tele and I can do that in Post as well which kinda seems like magic.

The only downside is that I can't manually add a 3x button in the native camera app, I have to use that stupid zoom wheel which is very fiddly to get it to 3x and if I go beyond 3x, even 3.1x (which is really easy with that zoom wheel. The "f" stop disappears.

Does anyone has any easier way where I can zoom in to 3x because I click photos in a pinch and I know I can zoom in afterwards but I like composing my shots in the viewfinder and having a 3x button would've been excellent.

Wanna switch from iPhone 17 pro to Ricoh GR

Hi, every year I buy the new iPhone because of the cameras, they are the only camera I use and have. This year especially, I really wanted to go with iPhone Air because I loved the design but camera was the single sore point that made me wanna stick with pro and honestly, I am pretty tired of it. I don't love my phone anymore which I used to do before. So, I have decided to switch to a dedicated camera but I don't want to complicate it too much because I have previously used a full frame camera Sony A7IV and quickly realised it wasn't for me, it was heavy, bulky and changing lenses and carrying them was not for me. All I want is something compact and non-cumbersome device that is just comparable to my existing phone camera(s) and Ricoh's compactness and APS-C sensors looks kinda it.

I just want comparable camera and the focal lengths I use the most on my iPhone is 2x and 3x(15 Pro) now it's 4x(17 pro) which I kinda hate. I rarely use the ultra wide lens if at all.

So, suggest me a Ricoh camera so I can switch out my 17 pro to the Air and move to a dedicated camera like Ricoh GR.

Consider me a rookie as I don't have any clue about the the HDF versions or Know the difference between models like GRIV, GR3x or GR3x HDF. I am eyeing towards GR3x solely because of 50mm and 71mm focal lengths.

Am I headed towards right direction with GR3x non-hdf version? Or am I missing something with comparison to other models? I saw the GRIV having a newer sensor so how does that compare to the older GR3x or even the iPhone Pro cameras?

Thank you and forgive me if I am asking any noob questions. Cheers.
