13 Mini to the iPhone Air...For now...

If you've been following my phone journey, I went from the 17 Pro to the 13 Mini because I was tired of carrying around a brick in my pocket with bulk and realized that I don't use a lot of the Pro features.

Two days ago my curiosity got the best of me and I ordered the iPhone Air without ever holding it in person. It was the first time in years that I went, "WOW" when I opened up the box! However, it's a bit too big and wide for my liking.

Curious to see if my thoughts will change in two weeks when I can return it within Apple's return window period.

What's your thoughts going to the Air from the Mini?

anyone got the Air instead of base 17 cuz its cheaper on the used market? any regrets? 🤔

both are 1-2 charge cycles with box and accessories. I could get 3 years of store warranty instead of 1 year apple limited if i choose the air, and the sellers for cheap base 17’s are all shadey asf, no info where the devices are from, all activated but not used. I feel more comfortable getting it, upgrading from the 11. i wanna keep it for at least 4 years, only concern is 20w charging max, i can imagine its gonna be pretty slow in a couple of years. I do like both but its my first time buying a phone with my own money and im having a hard time deciding.

iPhone 15 Pro to Air (my journey)

I’ve just ordered myself the iPhone Air (256) in Sky Blue to replace my Black Titanium iPhone 15 Pro (128) and I have to say… I haven’t been this excited about ordering a new phone in a long time!

I did initially order the 17 pro in Silver but after pondering the air and trying it out in person at the Apple Store, I just had to get the air…

I initially went to a 15 pro for the 120Hz screen, from an iPhone XS which was to date my favourite iPhone in terms of design and build quality etc. I also really convinced myself that I needed the triple camera set up and the pro tag etc etc. I loved the USB-C addition as well but never used the higher transfer speed capability for video/file transfer, and never once shot in the pro video formats.

I have loved my iPhone 15 Pro and may well try a pro again in the future, but for someone like me that doesn’t truly use those ‘pro’ features, I am so so excited to have a light, minimal and beautiful looking phone that’s a joy to use and interact with on a day to day basis.

The next decision to make is case or no case! 😮‍💨

So happy to be a part of the iPhone Air gang and looking forward to having it by my side for the next few years.

Going from a 15 Pro to an Air

I have a 15 Pro with pretty bad battery life. My phone has also been dropped so many times now that I just want a new, fresh phone.
The problem is that the 15 Pro is still really fast, and honestly I’m super happy with it. I was planning to buy the 17 Pro, but that was before I held an Air…

Has anyone here gone from a 15 or 16 Pro to an Air and been happy with it?
I know the speakers and stuff are worse, but does it still feel like an upgrade overall?

Case + Screen Protector vs. 2-Year AppleCare+?

I'm debating between getting a case + screen protector or just buying the 2-year AppleCare+.(sadly there’s no Apple care one in my country)

Rocking the iPhone naked seems to be a major part of the appeal, so I'm seriously considering it.

What do you guys think? Thanks!

Best Buy worker got mad at me for trying to buy the IPhone Air

Anyone else experience something like this?

My last phone was a base iPhone 13 I’ve had since release and while at work I dropped it on concrete which made half the screen unresponsive. I decided it had been long enough and had been interested in the Air since it was announced. So right after work I drove to Best Buy to buy one unlocked, as soon as I walk in the worker at the front shows me to the phones and tells me a specialist will be over soon to help me. The Verizon guy waddles over (literally) and asks me what I was looking for. I tell him that my phone had just broke and I was interested in buying the Air and had no interest in switching to Verizon. He goes on for about 20 minutes telling me that the Air is terrible and how people have been returning it because of overheating and the camera is terrible and stuff like that. At this point I was genuinely annoyed because I could tell he was actually getting mad at me for wanting the air which coincidentally was the only phone they had in stock that was able to be sold unlocked. After I realized that I was like please dude just ring me up for the Air. He gets all red in the face and radios in to someone else to get the phone for me from the back and referred to me as a “rich kid who doesn’t know any better” . Even while checking out the people at the counter couldn’t help but laugh over the fact that I wanted the Air. Idk whole experience was just weird felt like a bad Acid trip….. but I do love my new iPhone Air (:

No Case. Face down or up?

No case fam,

Do you set your phone down screen up or camera up? Any pros/ cons to either way?

I’m obsessed with this phone. No case is the way to go. I’ve got AppleCare so I’m covered for anything major. The ONLY thing that bothers me is when I set the phone down. I’m always extra cautious either way. Any recommendations?

Don’t see a lot of people with the Black iPhone Air

I don’t see a lot of people with this beautiful color. I feel like most of iPhone Air owners either have the Light blue or gold but mostly light blue. I also got this a month ago I upgraded from a 16 Pro Max and I love the slim form factor.

Battery health

Hi everyone! I have had my iPhone Air since release and have used it for approx 6 months (I switched to the 17 pro for 2 months at the start of the year and went back to my air). Love this phone! During a day of heavy usage I charge the phone around 2pm as I usually hit the 20% mark. I dropped to 99% at 211 charges and then dropped to 98% at 225. I hope Apple bring out an Air 2!

Just ordered the Air!! Switching from the 13 Mini

Open box Cloud White 256gb (Geek Squad certified from Best Buy) for $872 USD

I’m so excited 🥲 I’ve been using the 13 Mini for 4.5 years, I’m due for an upgrade

Other than the form factor, the titanium frame is what did it for me in the end. I felt that upgrading to another aluminum phone wouldn’t feel as premium or feel like a true upgrade. I need the durability since I go caseless, my Mini is beat to shit

Any one else make the same switch? How was it? I’m going in blind (never seen or touched an Air IRL)
