My wife is not from the United States so I was going to take her to Kelly Ingram Park to show her Birmingham's civil rights movement history and there was the Children's March anniversary celebration going on. It was nice but SCOTUS gutting the Voting Rights Act and the governor working to make sure nobody voted for by a majority of black people makes it to Congress or the state legislature loomed large

If you know anyone at the original march, Ruby Shuttlesworth Berger is writing a book with the stories of the original participants and is asking for them to contact her. I think the Civil Rights Activist Committee on 4th Ave N has her contact information.
