I still remember a hot, humid night back in 2013.
TGA — The Galaxy Alliance — had just pushed into Scalding Pass, and the border was about to connect with COA. A lot of corps joined TGA that night. Back then, once a player station was bashed into hull, whoever landed the final shot would automatically gain ownership of the station. Usually, that kind of thing was discussed in alliance meetings beforehand, and people would reach an agreement.
Of course, whoever owned the station had the right to name it whatever they wanted. Some leaders used station names to mock or insult their enemies.
But naming a structure “Taipei 101” was not okay.
Some people may never understand how sensitive Taiwan-related topics are to players from mainland China, just as some people may never understand why racial issues are so sensitive to people in Western societies.
Using hatred to motivate members is wrong. I care about freedom of speech, but political, ethnic, or racial comments should not be part of the game.
>"When you point one finger at people, at the same time you have four pointing at yourself."
That is what I have been telling the members of Wings and CSQY: losing a battle does not make you toxic. Losing ships does not make you toxic. What we cannot allow is political or racial commentary anywhere in the community.
I hate drama. I hate toxicity. That kind of mentality only leads people deeper into the abyss.
I live in a country built by immigrants. In life, no one can choose their parents, but people can choose the life they want to build and the society they want to live in.
I promise, I will never drink and fly again.
I have made many mistakes lately.
I dropped seven Astrahus structures around the Querious loop. The last one was only two jumps away from K7D. I was too drunk that night. We had to clear out hostilities and moon drills under our own sovereignty. OnlyFleets had placed multiple Tataras under our sov for our own R64 moons.
OnlyFleets is an admirable opponent in terms of scale, organization, and operational management. They pinged CTAs for those online timers. Honestly, 2100 ET is a terrible time zone for us.
OF decided to commit with DNIs. We responded with Sacrileges. Our total force was around 180 subcaps and 120 dreads. I exercised extreme tactical restraint. After we dropped a few Moroses on the grid to kill their triage, they decided to escalate. As a result, we were able to kill two Tataras and anchor our own.
Correct if I'm wrong, from what I heard, OnlyFleets has not had a proper alliance mining fleet since they left Detorid. Their corporations also do not receive Metenox drills. That is not really my business, of course. I was just surprised by it.
I had been deeply AFK for almost two years. If CFA-44 had not called me that day, I might have stayed asleep for much longer.
