Cell overclocking recently arrived, but seems to have little impact compared to RSX overclocking. Anybody know why?

GTA IV (very much a CPU bound game) seems to gain only about 1fps in identical scenarios when the CPU is boosted from 3.2ghz to 3.8. RSX overclocking on the other hand was massive for MGS V, which consistently hits a stable 30 at 700/850 in scenarios that were 20 at best at the stock speed of 500/650. Why is this?

What the fuck happened to the Mariners in 2004?

I know that sounds like a weirdly specific question, but I was just looking at their list of seasons on Wikipedia and it jumped out at me. For a long time there was the narrative around their drought and how it started immediately after their record-setting 2001 season, but it seems they were actually quite good in 2002-03, and there is no indication of a hidden decline from underlying metrics: in 2003, they actually had the best X-W/L in MLB, and won two more games than the eventual World Series champions. Obviously I didn't watch them, but I'd assume it could be argued they were genuinely elite still, just unlucky (no other team in the wild card era has missed the playoffs in consecutive seasons of over 90 wins).

And then in 2004, Ichiro shattered the hits record and lead the league in bWAR (9.2), but you wouldn't know it looking at their record: *63-99*. Essentially, without their star player, they'd have lost over 105 games? That's an absurd drop-off and I can't think of anything that measures up to it in recent memory. Maybe the Nationals, but they were at least mediocre for a year and half and *then* had a fire sale. What's the explanation for the '04 Mariners?

You can pop any PS1 disc into any PS3 and it will play it. Not the case on Xbox, and a great deal of it is due to licensing disagreements. Why didn't the PS3 face this problem?
