Former bro here. Literally would only hang with straight bros most of my life (internalized homophobia for sure). I’m finally getting to the point where I’m starting to be okay with who I am and don’t feel the need to mask my personality as much. Anyway, since I’ve been feeling more comfortable with myself, I’ve realized I fucking hate straight dude culture. There are lovely straights out there, but I just can’t stand how boring and predictable bro culture can be, they make me feel sad about how much of my life I wasted around them. I’m sitting next to two guys talking about hunting and golf right now and I just can’t help but feel exhausted. Wtf—am I closed off for not liking straight guy culture, or is it PTSD ? I feel guilty despising them, but they suck so much ass.
I also live in a boom city that seems to attract one type of person and they are exhausting
