Genuinely want to daily with GrapheneOS but I'm concerned about a few things. Can someone help me understand how it all works in practice?

Intro

I've been on a soft degoogle journey over the last year or so, slowly switching services. (I've added a list of what I have and haven't switched so far to the bottom of this post)

I've switched my laptop to mint and that's gone well. My next frontier is my phone. I already run a Pixel 9 Pro XL. I've carried out a fair bit of research but some of the info isn't clear or has changed. I am hoping somebody can answer my below questions.

Apps

Will these apps work in some way? Or is there reasonable alternatives?

  • Google Find my devices - I could give this up, but I do have a fair bit of money spent on trackers that are useful.
  • Google Nest Doorbell - I know I know, I might just bite the bullet and replace this
  • Pixel Screen Calling - I get lots of spam calls so this is pretty useful
  • Waze or Google Maps - I mostly use Comaps for general mapping, but I often do long trips and these are just so useful with their traffic info
  • Wireless android auto (Pretty sure this is a yes from researching)
  • Pixel camera (This is a must, I take lots of photos of my kids and need the quality)

Workflow

  • How does the sandboxed play services work? If it's in a seperate profile do I have to keep swapping profiles to see my notifications/open apps?
  • I use a fair few apps that rely on notifications via Google Firebase(?), do these work okay? What do I need to do?
  • In day to day usage if I use the aurora store? Do apps stay up to date okay?
  • How much tweaking on average do you need to do after installing an app? Are 90% just work?
  • If I just install loads of google apps with sandboxed google play, is there much benefit switching?

And I mean EDC, I take it to work everyday, the shooting range at the weekend. It's been to 10 different countries including half of them as my only bag.

It genuinely is in great shape still, I've replaced a few zippers.

Info:

  • 5.11 Rush 12 (original) in double tap.
  • Maxpedition molle bottle pouch.
  • Reflective patch.
  • Hook for hanging off things (not sure I like it I got sucked into some YouTube videos).

A quick list of the inside stuff I take daily, if anyone is interested in anything please ask.

  • Anker power bank.
  • Wired headphones.
  • Inhaler.
  • Pens and notebook.
  • Pocketbook ereader.
  • Tech bag with gadgets, chargers and cables.
  • Fenix flashlight.
  • Wear screwdriver.
  • Leather man multitool.
  • Moto tag tracker.
  • Contigo bottle and clip.
  • Hand sanitiser and moisturiser.
  • Travel towel.
  • Fold up grocery bag.
  • Sunglasses.
  • 15 inch laptop on work days.

This has all kept me pretty sweet and I've optimised it over time. This mostly leaves the main compartment empty if I need to throw a coat, clothes, shopping etc in to take home
