Gazette reporter Fern Alling is working on a story about maternal healthcare deserts in the state and how distance to a delivery unit impacts the care pregnant people receive. 

They're interested in talking to anyone who is currently pregnant and planning to give birth 30+ minutes away from home or someone who has given birth out of town due to a lack of available options — whether they made it to the hospital or delivered in a car/ambulance.
