Botulism Concern

Here’s a more polished version:

I ordered pickled garlic from Amazon, and when it arrived, the box smelled strongly of garlic. I figured that might be normal, since it is garlic, but when I opened one of the jars, I noticed some liquid pooled around the lid. I also did not see a pop-up safety button or any obvious freshness seal indicating the jar had been properly sealed.

I ate two cloves before thinking much of it, and they tasted normal and actually pretty good. Now I am worried the jar may have been leaking or unsealed during shipping. It was also outside in the sun after delivery, though I don't remember for how long.

How concerned should I be about botulism or another serious foodborne illness from this?
