The thing about hookup culture is....
I stumbled upon this reddit tonight by pure happenstance, I wasn't even looking for this. Here's some truth for you to process, maybe it will resonate with some of you:
- Hookup culture is trash, and I say that as politely as I can right now. It has created a pump and dump mentality of transactional sex that's dehumanizing in the end. When you have random sex, you're just using another person to get off and then throw them away like they don't matter. That affects people psychologically on a very deep, profound level, it just takes them forever to figure it out, or they're too dense to get it. Why are half the people in North America on anti-depressants? This is a contributing factor.
- It took decades for our culture to realize that something is off here. I see more and more content about "hoeflation" popping up and guys complaining that they can't find themselves a virgin wife anymore. Yeah, that's what happens when you sleep with all the women, they stop being virgins. Then they turn into passport bros and sleep around with virgins in another country, and so the trend continues.
- Most of these men, in fact almost all of them, get angry and hurt when some other guy uses their sister, niece, mother, etc in the same way that they're treating other women. Guys have simply become full of shit and they don't want to take responsibility for it. I'm a guy myself, but I at least speak the truth, I've seen how people mistreat each other. It's vile.
- Sex is not "just sex" as some would say, otherwise it wouldn't sting like hell if someone cheats on you. But again, people are too dumb to connect the dots.
- They call it "the walk of shame" the next morning, not "the walk of awesome". Think about why that is.
If you're a virgin, don't feel pressured to give it away. You're merely in a society that's too sick and messed up to heal itself. Don't fall for their bullshit. This whole place is falling apart, it's plain as day to see. You're not the weak ones, they are. You're not worthless, nobody is worthless, but people do act worthless.
